2010 Guide to the Bangkok Go Go Bar Dancing Scene

The Go-Go scene in Bangkok is probably the biggest Go Go scene in Thailand the second going to Pattaya gogo bars and is nothing like what you'd see else where in the world. The go-go bars are centrally located and clustered together which makes visiting a go go bar in bangkok an easy thing to do. If you like ping pong ball shows lesbian shows lady boy and numerous other acts then head to one of the follow four go go bar areas in Bangkok. Don't expect to much dancing going on in the club and don't expect the dancers to be that energetic either. You see the go-go dancer while they do make a decent thai salary arn't there to dance, their there to be fined and taken away to the love chalace. 90% of the girls in the go go bar are available to be fined, bar fines in Bangkok are vary from place to place and the negotiated price there after is something between you and the lovely thai lady working in the go go bar. These places are great to hang out with a couple of mates but if it's just you. I'd suggest a thai soapy massage parlour.

Nana Plaza

Nana enterntainment complex located on Sukhumvit Soi 4 is the central of sleaze in Bangkok and is otherwise known as just plain Nana. Many people who visit Nana Plaza don't even make it into a Go Go Bar where you'll often see many working girls hanging out by the road and the infamous Nana disco.

Patpong

One of the most famous or really infamous nightspots in Bangkok if not the world. This place was put on the map for it's Go Go shows but lately has lost much of it's lustre as strings of underworld figures took over the Go Go bars and put pressure on the customers to pay outrageous prices for beers or force them to pay for a cover charge once you've sat down. Still though it's a great place to walk around in the nightmarket and if your feeling adventurous try out a go go bar, you'll definately see a show and is relatively safe as long as you pay what they ask, you'll expect to pay about $10USD each when you get in there, while not much it is steep for thailand.

Soi Cowboy

Soi Cowboy another place just off Sukhumvit and aptly named after the African American man who opened the first bar here back in the 70's, he always wore a cowboy hat. This red light district has a more laid back feel and your less likely to get dragged into a bar than if you were at Nana Plaza and is a regular place for expats and people who know Bangkok well. Prices are also the cheapest in all of the Bangkok Go Go Bar districts.

Sutthisan Road Gogo Bars

This place is known to local thai men in Bangkok and rarely frequented by foreigners, the women in these places barely speak english because they rarely get the tourist coming in. It's easy to find and the prices are way cheaper than say Nana plaza. It's thai style also so you won't have to ask for ice for that large chang beer, my favourite.
